[Review] GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment

Haroo awesomepeoples!

I hope you guys are still checking in to my blog now and then despite the lackadaisical updates from my end here 🙂 Busy busy busy as a bee, or so I think I’ve been. The Eid hols recently allowed me a much-needed break to spend quality time resting and hanging out with le boyf whilst experiencing good food. I have some food porn up at Instagram, so do take a peek at my recent postings!

I have been using a tonne of new things that I am dying to showcase here and blog about, so do keep coming back now and then yeah 🙂

I have an amazing product to review today, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the post ❤

So, I recently picked up a travel sized tube of the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment to review, all thanks given to The Butterfly Project for providing me the product 🙂 I was rather excited to give this a go considering how many beauty bloggers out there speak so highly of the GlamGlow brand and its products. The amount of rave reviews I’ve read over this one product is just crazy!

Now the GlamGlow Supermud claims to help de-clog & minimize pores, fight follicle bacteria & breakouts, restore photo damaged skin and tonnes more! Most importantly, it claims to draw out dirt and congestion without removing natural oils. The full list of what Supermud can do is available here. With a product that has such a long lengthy claim, does it live up to it? Lets find out.

PS: Do forgive me if the pics are a tad blurry since I’m using my mobile as a substitute camera until I get my brand new one! Yay!

The product comes all sealed up with the silver foil to ensure the product stays fresh in the tube, and no spillage occurs.

Removing the foil seal reveals a thin runny grey mud paste which smells absolutely minty!

Directions of Use:  Apply a THIN layer to clean skin. Leave on for 5 – 20 minutes & remove with water. Use as a full face mask or spot treatment as often as needed. (The key to using this product is to apply a very thin layer, not a 5 inch thick mask)

GlamGlow Review (5)

This is approximately how much product I used for my whole face. As you can see, I literally used a pea sized amount to cover the whole of my skin.

GlamGlow Review (6)

I usually apply my masks using a brush, however for the Supermud, I opted to use my fingers instead. The reason being the fact that Supermud dries extremely quickly! Even as I’m applying it, it starts to dry almost immediately. I’d suggest anyone using Supermud to work their way across the face as quickly as they can, because once that mud dries, it aint going anywhere!

Within 30 seconds, the mud looks halfway dried, and by the time a minute passes, just a tiny bit of wet mask remains,

GlamGlow Review (1)

Within 2 minutes, the whole mask has dried, and starts to become hard & I couldn’t move my face much for fear of cracking the mask. If you notice the black bits on my skin, those are the tea leaves from the mud.

The picture below shows my face after about 10 minutes, where the mask is starting to extract the oils from my skin. If you look closely, (which you may not want to do, lol) there seems to be ALOT of oil on my nose, cheek and on my chin!

GlamGlow Review (3)

After 15 minutes of not moving my face, voila! I look all presentable again! Now from the pictures, the difference isn’t very much visible. I mean, it’s just one time, I wasn’t expecting to have baby bum type of clear & soft skin, however, let me tell you what I did notice and feel after using the Supermud.

GlamGlow Review (2)

Personal Thoughts: After rinsing the mask off, I didn’t have to wash my face again using my cleanser. You know how some masks leave a weird oily feeling on your skin, and you have to re-cleanse? This one doesn’t. My skin felt soft & moisturized, sans any oily feel. After towel drying my skin, I could see that the pores on my nose were visibly smaller, and that was just from a one time use! I usually have large pores on my nose, which bothers me to no end, and I couldn’t believe how much clearer the skin on my nose looked. Skin definitely feels much softer, and I couldn’t stop pinching and touching my face  for the rest of the day 😀

The next day, applying makeup was such a breeze. My foundation glided on smoothly, my skin looked absolutely perfect! My skin is already in a good place at the moment as you can see, I don’t have acne, nor do I have much acne scars. The only concern I have at this time of my life is uneven skin tone and some pigmentation issues. Supermud does claim to help with pigmentation, so I’m hoping after a few more uses, I’ll be able see a more noticeable difference.

It’s a little hard to tell the complete difference from the before and afters without you guys being able to actually touch and feel my skin, but believe me, this mask is good stuff ❤

The only con I can think of?  The price.

Shelling out RM240 for a far of product seems to be out of my price range at the moment, (I still need to save up for my wedding don’t I?) but if my budget does allow me someday, Supermud will probably be the first product I pick up!
