Review : Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review – 8

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (4)

I’ve been lusting over the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation for the longest time, and when I finally did get my hands on it, best day ever! Now I actually fell in love after seeing ViviannaDoesMakeup rave about it on her videos and blog, and one of my favourite Youtubers, TanTricks also has reviewed this on her channel. Many a beauty guru Including Kim K who isn’t one too,  have made this their HG foundation, and I was naturally curious as to why, hence I purchased it. BTW, at the risk of going slightly off topic,  must say, I love TanTricks’s videos, though she doesn’t post up too frequently.

Anyway, I picked up the LMSF in the shade 8, and this was a very carefully thought out decision based on multiple online swatches and reviews. I was gunning for the 7.5 or 8.5, but somehow I felt the 8 would be a much better match considering my yellow undertones. This was purchased off as it isn’t available in Malaysia, as most amazing beauty products are, FML.

The LMSF is available in a whopping 25 shades, covering all shades & undertones. It is pricey, retailing at USD 62. (approx RM275 at our current horrible exchange rates, 4.38 mind you!) The foundation is described to be a weightless, hydrating foundation, leaving a silky texture and an all-day, buildable coverage.  This is the only Armani foundation that  contains no SPF, which means you have to layer it up with a base of sun protection during the day.

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (3)

Packaging is certainly a 5 star win, with the heavy frosted glass bottle and pump, I have zero complaints in this area.  Thank goodness it comes with a pump, because if a foundation doesn’t come with a pump I will think twice about repurchasing it. The pump disperses just the right amount, as 1 pump is all I need to cover my full face. Each bottle contains 30 ml of product, so this can last you, say 2-3 months of daily use? I use it irregularly as I switch it up with my Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum now and then.

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (2)

When I got the foundation, I was slightly horrified as I thought I’d picked a foundation which was way too dark, but swatching and testing it out on my face proved me wrong.

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (1)

As you can see, it is a foundation with warm undertones that suit my yellowy-brown skin. Lets see how it fares on my actual face shall we?

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (5)

Before shots. Yes, this is bare faced me with my acne scars and all for show, including messy hair day. As you can see, my skin is slightly dull at the moment, as all that stress buildup I’m dealing with isn’t doing me any good.

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (7)

My skin after 1 layer of the foundation. Now, my uneven skin tone is gone, acne scars look less visible and everything just looks slightly smoother. Coverage wise, it does say medium, but using just one layer gives you a sheer natural looking cover, so if you need more coverage, feel free to build it up. Personally, I just go over my problem spots with concealer and I’m okay to go! I apply this with my Zoeva 102 Silk Finish brush, and I buff it in with the RT Buffing brush. There isn’t a noticeable scent to the foundation, so that’s a good thing too, although I do like the Bourjois ones for the extra fruity scent! ❤

This foundation is on the thinner side but it is not watery or runny. The thin texture makes spreading and blending very easy and it does blend with a natural skin-like appearance and a lightweight feeling.

It dries to a semi matte finish, meaning its not entirely matte, and there is some dewy looking thing going on, which kind of looks like I’m not wearing any foundation, so all hail natural beauty ! 😀 Its just one of those foundations that truly enhances skin rather than covering it up. It lasts all freaking day too, but I do get oily around the 5-6 hour mark, so I just blot and touch up if need be.

Since this foundation doesn’t need additional mattifying properties, I usually go over it with my Guerlain Meteorites for a final touch of powder for added glow & luminosity. And if I’m feeling extra wonderful, I’ll add half a pump of my Charlotte Tilburry Wonderglow into the foundation mix and blend them together for a seamless, glowy look.

This foundation photographs beautifully, which doesn’t surprise me, as the queen of selfies herself  (Kim K that is for the uninitiated) proclaims this as her HG foundation. Something about the way this foundation diffuses light makes it so photographable.

Optimized-Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review 8 (6)

Overall, I really love this foundation and it has made it to the top 5 foundations I love list. (PS: Remind me to write about that list yeah? ) This foundation is definitely worth the price, and whilst I do urge you guys to pick it up, make sure you colour match yourself correctly as not doing so would be a very costly mistake. Wrapping things up like a samosa wtf, I’d tell you guys, if you guys are stuck on a desert island with only one foundation to bring, this is the one you should take! ❤

The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation retails for USD62/30ml and is available through, and most online shopping sites like

Until I see you guys again 🙂

Review : Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade – Dark Brown

Optimized-anastasia beverly hills dipbrow pomade dark brown review (2)

Eyebrows on fleek. :/

Somehow that phrase annoys the crap out of me, but that’s what the kids these days say, eh, so dear old me here has to keep up, lol! Lets get talking about brows, so today I have the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the shade Dark Brown to review. Personally, I think brows are one of the most important features on someone as they tend to frame your face, and a bad brow job could literally ruin the way you look.  (Yes I exaggerate, but you get my drift) Remember those brow-less celebrity memes? 😀

When I was about to initially purchase this, I was torn between the Brow Wiz & the Dipbrow Pomade, however I finally settled for the pomade since it wasn’t something very commonly seen. I mean we come across eyebrow products in the form of sticks, tints, but rarely do we see eyebrow pomades now do we? Also, I don’t have to mention that this was THE product to have back in 2014, and everyone and their grandmothers were raving about it, including famous celebs and renown make up artists.

Now this is how the pot looks like after I’ve used it for like almost a year or so, so please ignore the griminess of it. The pomade comes in 10 shades, so I picked up the one closest to my actual brow colour, so Dark Brown it was. Thankfully, swatches online proved helpful as these were purchased for me by a friend via if I recall correctly.

Optimized-anastasia beverly hills dipbrow pomade dark brown review (4)

The product comes in a sturdy glass pot, containing 4g worth of pomade, which I tell you, will last a REALLY long time. The pomade feels like a creamy gel texture, very similar to a lot of eyeliner gels in the market, which allows you to define your eyebrow, as you would when forming an eyeliner wing. This product applies wet, yet once dry this sets to a smudge proof, and waterproof texture that lasts all day. And I mean all day. I’ve had days where I was running around like a mad crazy person, and my brows stayed put, despite the sweat, humidity, and even rain mind you.

How I use it is I basically load a sharp angled brush with some product, just a little, as the pomade is super pigmented, so you really only need a tiny bit, and start drawing and filling my brows in. Once I’ve done that, I use a spoolie brush to soften the harsh edges and to make them look more natural. Once thats done, I run over the brows with some clear brow gel, Currently I’m using the Essence Brow Gel which is uhmazing!

With Dipbrow, I find my brows are sculpted better and have a much more defined looking shape, that takes way less time to achieve than when using a powder.

A swatch of the Dark Brown shade.

Optimized-anastasia beverly hills dipbrow pomade dark brown review (3)

I was literally rushing out the door as I took these before and after shots, and I did my brows in all of 2 minutes, and look how much better they look already. Seriously guys, I am in love with the Dipbrow Pomade. I’m never switching brow products, ever. In these pictures, I didn’t go over the brow with a concealer to sharpen the brows up.

Foundation I’m using: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

Optimized-anastasia beverly hills dipbrow pomade dark brown review (8)

Would I recommend this? Yes, of course! I wouldn’t be writing about it if I didn’t 😀  It is a simple product to use, no rocket science required, it takes just a few minutes for perfect brows, and it lasts all day long. Now what more could a girl need?

Have you guys tried the Dipbrow Pomade before? If no, what are your current go to brow products? Let me know in the comments ❤

The Anastatsia Beverly Hills  Dipbrow retails for USD 18, and isn’t available in Malaysia. I purchased mine via Beauty Bay, but this is also available via, and many other retailers online.

Until I see you guys again 🙂

Review : M.A.C Giambattista Valli – Charlotte

Optimized-MAC Giambatista Valli Review (5)

I have to start this post by saying that I have zero necessity of another red lipstick, but I saw this, I liked it, and I had to have it 😀 Veni, Vidi, Vici! I’m still not a big MAC fan as I’ve mentioned previously, but I couldn’t pass up a gorgeous red lippie which was limited edition.

The MAC Giambatistta Valli collection brings 5 shades in the range, however I decided to pick up just the one red as the other shades looked too garish for my tastes. Tats & Eugenie looked pretty cute I might add though.

Pic via

mac giambattista valli

Charlotte on the other hand is a brick-red, blue based matte lipstick which instantly spoke to me the moment I saw the swatches online. The packaging is matte as well (unlike the rubbery ones found in the Toledo collection), mind you, so I really liked it. One of my favorite things about this lipsticks is that the packaging is the same color as the shade inside. You know how annoying it is when you’re ruffling through your bag and you can’t locate the lipstick that you want so this eliminates that.

Optimized-MAC Giambatista Valli Review (6)

Swatches! I love the red, seriously. It’s so dark and deep and has a good color payoff that covers my lips evenly and smoothly without dragging during application. The color lasts about six to seven hours but I felt that it was somewhat drying over time.

Optimized-MAC Giambatista Valli Review (3)

Since we don’t wear lipsticks on our arms, here it is on me ❤ Love, love, love the red! Oh and eyebrows are by Anastasia Beverly Hill’s DipBrow Pomade in Dark Brown. Review on that surely coming soon, its been one of my favourites recently.

Optimized-MAC Giambatista Valli Review (2)

Optimized-MAC Giambatista Valli Review (1)

Did you pick anything up from this collection or even anything from the 100 or so collections that MAC has released since? 😛

The MAC Giambattista Valli Collection lipsticks were priced at RM86 (if I recall) and is not available anymore since it was LE.

Say hi in the comments, & see you guys soon. ❤

Review: Indeed Labs Fillume Volumising Serum

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (2)

I have always been a fan of the Indeed Labs range of items, and have, in the past reviewed many of their skincare products. In this post, I’d like to tell you about their latest item in the Indeed Labs family, the Fillume Volumising Serum. This product is a half of a set, and is meant to be used with the Fillume Volumising Moisturiser, which I unfortunately have yet to try out.

Pic via Flutter & Sparkle

indeed labs fillume serum volumising moisturiser review blog blogger skincare antiageing wrinkles forehead lines crows feet london kent uk beauty lifestyle flutter and sparkle hydraluron boots 2

Personally, I use the serum paired with my trusty Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Moisturizer.

Some of the benefits of the Fillume Volumising Serum include:

  • Restoring facial contours.
  • Improves facial firmness, suppleness and elasticity.
  • Improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
  • Increases skin’s hydration levels and stimulates skin renewal
  • Improves the tone and texture of skin.

The Fıllume Volumising Moisturiser contains a combination of clinically proven ingredients designed to help target the appearance of subtle facial volume loss. Sesamin, (from seeds of sesame), hyaluronic acid, and a molecular network of natural biopolymers help skin appear fuller, firmer and smoother.

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (4)

Usage: I use the serum daily by applying a small broad bean sized amount to a cleansed face and neck each morning & night. The box recommend a pea sized, but I use more 🙂

Personal Thoughts: Thing is, being in my mid twenties, I’m at that age where wrinkles have yet to develop, (yet being the key word) however without any care, those pesky lines would surely appear much earlier than they need to. So to me, this is more of a “prevention is better than a cure” product. After a trial run with this, I wasn’t able to see results in terms of lines reduction, since I had none to begin with, however I did notice that my skin felt much softer & hydrated through the day.

I reckon for those of you who already have wrinkles and lines to frown about, ( don’t, you’ll get more lines! 😀 ) this would be a great product to try out.  But for those of us who are *ehem* of a younger age, you may not get the promised results from this.

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (3)

The ingredient list. You guys might want to know that this product has a chock full of silicone, so those of you with silicone allergies might wanna be a bit more wary. Despite the silicone, I didn’t have any clogged pores, breakouts, etc. It worked just fine for me, but I do double cleanse my skin each day, so that might be a contributing factor as well.

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (1)

To sum things up, I feel that Fillume is a product that one should give a trial run is you are worried about the appearance of lines, however, do bear in mind, that as all skin care products do, this may take time, and results aren’t instantaneous. This isn’t Botox in a bottle guys 😛

Have you tried the Fillume range? If not, would you be willing to give it a go, if not?

The Indeed Labs Fillume Volumising Serum retails for RM126.30/30ml & available exclusively at Muse by Watsons Sunway Pyramid, Watsons Alamanda, Paradigm and KLCC.

Weekend Getaway : Pattaya (Part 1)

Hey everyone,

I realize it’s been a while since I’ve written anything in here. Hope I still remember how things work, lol! *blows dust and cobwebs away* I guess I have been pre-occupied with work & life in general which has left me with not much time to pen any of my thoughts down. (Though much of it has been immortalized on my Twitter profile)  I have been doing some occasional, random creative writing, but that’s a post for another day.

For now, I’d like to tell you guys about my recent trip to Pattaya, Thailand.  Now, I can’t remember for the life of me, the last time I took a trip or a holiday anywhere, meaning I was long overdue for a getaway surely. I last visited Thailand as a child, and that was at least 10 years ago, so much has changed in this decade. For this trip, I took a quick 3 days 2 nights trip to Pattaya, so I’ll be breaking the trip down for you lot into two separate posts for ease of reading.

Pattaya is located by the sea and beaches, and surrounded by beautiful high rise buildings, with plenty of locality, so I definitely as looking forward to a sunny beach getaway.

So let me tell you what went down on day 1 & 2, shall I?

DAY 1:

To begin with, I took an Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) on a sunny Friday afternoon. Just so you guys know, Air Asia only recently launched direct flights to Pattaya, on July 15 this year, so that’s great news for you guys!

The flight was approximately 1 hour & 55 minutes, so it was a very quick flight. I barely had time to settle down for a nap, and voila, Pattaya was upon us!  Flights wise, Air Asia provides return flights to Pattaya 4 times a week, with really cheap seats too, as low as MYR 250 and below (just make sure you book your flights ahead of schedule, and do lookout for AA’s special offers and discounts!)

AK 840 KUL – UTP 1430 hrs – 1525 hrs (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun)
AK 841 UTP – KUL 1555 hrs – 1900 hrs (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun)

We landed in the U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya Airport, which is about 45 minutes away from the city centre. Its a rather small airport, so don’t expect a huge building 🙂  You can get cabs, buses and rental vans from the airport to the city, so getting around wont be much of an issue. From the airport, we made our way to our hotel, the lovely Courtyard Marriott located  on Pratamnak Hill, South Pattaya Road via a van.

The weather was rather warm, much warmer than Malaysia I reckon, so it may be wise to pack loose clothing with thin layers. I’d hazard temperatures were around 26 Celcius-ish ? I made the mistake of layering up in thick denim, so don’t do what I did. 😀

The Courtyard Marriott

The hotel room was gorgeous, with a view overlooking the city’s busy landscape. Room rates range from MYR 250/per night for a Superior bedroom, and above, accordingly for more exclusive rooms. Isn’t the room simple gorgeous? See if you spot the elephant in the room ❤

I only wish I had more time to spend in the room since the bed was so fluffy, but that wouldn’t do, would it?

Optimized-Courtyard Marriott Pattaya

Dinner that night was a feast prepared by the hotels’ esteemed chef in the MoMo Cafe located on the ground floor . Some of the highlights include the below. Obviously there was more food on the dinner table, however in my hunger and haste, I forgot to take pictures the spread. The food was absolutely delicious, and I only wish I had more room in my tummy to eat up!

Clockwise: MoMo Cafe dining area, Fried Sunflower Seeds & Orchids, Grilled Mushrooms

Post dinner, it was time for a walk at the infamous Walking Street, which is a mere 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. It is a tourist attraction that draws foreigners and Thai nationals, primarily for the night life. The areas specialties includes seafood restaurants, live music venues, beer bars, discothèques, sports bars, go-go bars, and nightclubs. If you’re looking for a fun night out, this is definitely the place to be!

Clockwise from left: Walking Street, Bright lights in Walking Street, le me getting a foot massage after all that walking and touring (200THB which is approx MYR 25), and a Turkish Ice Cream Magic Show.

Well, that pretty much wrapped up day one of my trip, and I recall I was so exhausted I just passed flat out on the comfy beds. I swear, it felt like the beds were made out of clouds. 😀

DAY 2:

Woke up to a lovely day, I tell you, it gets so sunny here at 7 am, that one cant help but to wake up bright and early! After breakfast, we headed out to the first stop of the day, The Sanctuary of Truth.

The Sanctuary of Truth is locate about 35 mins from the city centre, and is a gigantic wooden construction and is about 105 meters high. The building was constructed according to ancient Thai ingenuity and every square inch of the building is covered with wooden carvings & sculptures. One might find it interesting that this whole structure is built with zero nails or screws, and only uses wooden joints!

The entrance fee is THB450 for adults, so it really is quite cheap to get in. Apart from visiting the Sanctuary of Truth structure, one can also enjoy horse rides, elephant rides, as well as going on a lake tour.

Nope, this isn’t the actual structure, just a smaller replica lol!

Optimized-The Sanctuary Of Truth Pattaya (1)

Now this is the actual one! It’s so magnificent and I was in awe of the complete structure.

Optimized-Sanctuary Of Truth

Meanwhile, on the inside of the building, carvings and sculptures galore.

The purposes of the wooden carvings sculptures are to use art and culture as the reflection of Ancient Vision of Earth, Ancient Knowledge, and Eastern Philosophy. Within this complex, visitors will understand the Buddhist theory of Ancient Life, Human Responsibility, Basic Thought, Cycle of living, Life Relationship with Universe and the Common Goal of Life toward Utopia.

I feel that the Sanctuary of Truth would be an amazing place to just relax, meditate and calm down from all the daily stresses we face.

Optimized-The Sanctuary Of Truth Pattaya (2)

To our surprise, there was a traditional Thai dance performance (happens each day at 11.30 am) so we were treated to some lovely music and performances by the gorgeous ladies in pink!

Optimized-The Sanctuary Of Truth Pattaya (3)

Next up, we headed to a local go-kart establishment for some fun in the sun! Personally, I’ve never been go karting, something about all that speed and racing that never appealed to my senses, but since I was on holiday, I figured, why not? YOLO lol!

A pose with the go-karts are a must! 😀

Optimized-Go Kart

And we have lift off! ❤ The whole experience was quite interesting, as go karting does give off this amazing adrenalin rush, as well as need for speed. But after a few laps, the sun started to scorch me, and I had to say sayonara to the race track. I figure anyone should give go-karting a go, at least once in a lifetime!

Optimized-Go Kart (2)

And if the race track is empty, this shot is a must have!

Optimized-Go Kart (3)

Lunch was at the breathtaking Glasshouse Restaurant, located about 25 minutes away from the city center. The Glasshouse Restaurant is romantic and hidden spot, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, where the beach and sands await. Imagine having dinner while the waves are heard in the background and the sea breeze wafts through the air? Gosh, that sounds divine!

Optimized-2nd Day Lunch at The Glasshouse Restaurant

All the food we had from that lunch! So many yummy dishes, we just had to try them all! My favourite was the fish for sure! The restaurant not only offers western dishes, but wonderful seafood dishes as well!

Optimized-2nd Day Lunch at The Glasshouse Restaurant (2)

Meanwhile, this wraps up Part 1 of my Pattaya post. I will be back with Part Two soonest, so stay tuned. Personally, I think Pattaya is a great place to visit if you need a quick trip away from your daily life, and to recharge your batteries, so if you’re intrigued and interested for a short beach getaway, do head on over to to start booking your flights!

Much love,

In life we all have an unspeakable secret,
an irreversible regret,
an unreachable dream and an unforgettable love.

[Review] Mary Kay Beauty That Counts NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss

Hey girls & boys,

If you guys recall, sometime last year I talked about the Mary Kay Journey of Dreams Fragrance which was part of the Mary Kay CSR programme. As we all know most companies these days have a corporate social responsibility to the public (CSR) and Mary Kay is no exception to that. Since they’ve been around (for more than 50 years that is) they’ve been inspiring & enriching the lives of all the women & children from around the world. Mary Kay Ash founded her company on this golden rule and emphasized the importance of giving back to others, that’s why every day Mary Kay is changing the lives of women and children around the world.

They do it mainly through their global program, “Beauty That Counts”, and this year, Mary Kay Malaysia will be partnering with HOPE Malaysia and Suriana Welfare Society to empower underprivileged children to break the cycle of poverty through quality education, positively transforming their lives and the lives of the community around.

If last year it was a fragrance, this year we have a duo of lip gloss that was created to help transform the lives of women and children. Around the world, funds raised through Beauty That Counts helps:

With every unit of Limited Edition Beauty That Counts NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss sold, RM 3 will be donated to two of the afore-mentioned charity organizations. (RRP 58, available while stocks last)

There are two shades available, which are:

  • Create Change : Pink Sateen swirled with Berry Tart
  • In Harmony : Café au Lait swirled with Cream and Sugar

Optimized-Mary Kay CSR Beauty That Counts Lip Gloss (2)

The NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss gives an instant boost of moisture to your lips, smoothes, protects and conditions your lips while leaving it glossy. Though I’m not the biggest fan of glosses, these lip glosses contains a mixture of antioxidant-rich complex of vitamins and plant-derived minerals.

And I must say that the swirl designs are simply beautiful. Although the swirls do disappear after a while of using them, extra points for packaging yo. The lip glosses smell like vanilla cupcakes, so call me smitten the moment I uncapped the tube.

Swatches of the lip glosses below. From top, Create Change, and bottom, In Harmony. Both of them contain slight shimmers, and I think my favourite shade is Create Change due to the beautiful berry shade. ❤

Here is how they look in person, and I must say, despite the slight stickiness that comes with all lip glosses, I really like them!
