Review: Indeed Labs Fillume Volumising Serum

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (2)

I have always been a fan of the Indeed Labs range of items, and have, in the past reviewed many of their skincare products. In this post, I’d like to tell you about their latest item in the Indeed Labs family, the Fillume Volumising Serum. This product is a half of a set, and is meant to be used with the Fillume Volumising Moisturiser, which I unfortunately have yet to try out.

Personally, I use the serum paired with my trusty Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Moisturizer.

Some of the benefits of the Fillume Volumising Serum include:

  • Restoring facial contours.
  • Improves facial firmness, suppleness and elasticity.
  • Improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
  • Increases skin’s hydration levels and stimulates skin renewal
  • Improves the tone and texture of skin.

The Fıllume Volumising Moisturiser contains a combination of clinically proven ingredients designed to help target the appearance of subtle facial volume loss. Sesamin, (from seeds of sesame), hyaluronic acid, and a molecular network of natural biopolymers help skin appear fuller, firmer and smoother.

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (4)

Usage: I use the serum daily by applying a small broad bean sized amount to a cleansed face and neck each morning & night. The box recommend a pea sized, but I use more 🙂

Personal Thoughts: Thing is, being in my mid twenties, I’m at that age where wrinkles have yet to develop, (yet being the key word) however without any care, those pesky lines would surely appear much earlier than they need to. So to me, this is more of a “prevention is better than a cure” product. After a trial run with this, I wasn’t able to see results in terms of lines reduction, since I had none to begin with, however I did notice that my skin felt much softer & hydrated through the day.

I reckon for those of you who already have wrinkles and lines to frown about, ( don’t, you’ll get more lines! 😀 ) this would be a great product to try out.  But for those of us who are *ehem* of a younger age, you may not get the promised results from this.

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (3)

The ingredient list. You guys might want to know that this product has a chock full of silicone, so those of you with silicone allergies might wanna be a bit more wary. Despite the silicone, I didn’t have any clogged pores, breakouts, etc. It worked just fine for me, but I do double cleanse my skin each day, so that might be a contributing factor as well.

Optimized-Indeed Labs Fillume Review (1)

To sum things up, I feel that Fillume is a product that one should give a trial run is you are worried about the appearance of lines, however, do bear in mind, that as all skin care products do, this may take time, and results aren’t instantaneous. This isn’t Botox in a bottle guys 😛

Have you tried the Fillume range? If not, would you be willing to give it a go, if not?

The Indeed Labs Fillume Volumising Serum retails for RM126.30/30ml & available exclusively at Muse by Watsons Sunway Pyramid, Watsons Alamanda, Paradigm and KLCC.

[Review] Indeed Labs Facial Powdered Exfoliator & The Hydraluron Moisture Jelly Moisturiser

Oh hello there sexy faces!

Hope you guys have had a nice weekend wherever you are 🙂 It’s a 4 day weekend where I live here, so its been amazing to have a nice long break. (although I don’t see why I’m so happy about it considering I’ve been on holiday for at least a month now lol) In other news, it’s a baby girl for the British royal family, so I was rather pleased to read about the news ❤ Congrats Kate & Wills!!  While everyone else has been busy making babies, getting married or engaged, (it’s wedding bells everywhere I go these days =_=”) I’ve been trying out some new skin care products that I wanted to tell you guys about. Yes. Priorities for the win yo. 😀

So you see, I’ve always had a thing for all products that cometh forth from Indeed Labs, and I’ve also reviewed a couple of their products which are the Hydraluron Serum & Nanoblur respectively here & here. Imagine my happiness when 2 more products from them landed on my vanity, so buckle up cos its going to be a long post!

Indeed Labs has been churning out one new product after the other recently, and these two are some of the latest additions to the Indeed Labs family, which are the Indeed Labs Facial Powdered Exfoliator & the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly Moisturizer. I mentioned these two items briefly in my recent post about the launch event which you can read here, and today let’s have a proper full on review on these two products shall we?

[Product Launch] Getting to Know 3CE & the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly

Annyeonghaseyo errbody!

Hello from Korea! 🙂 Nahh, I kid lol. Am still here in the land of the 1MBD debts & the Sedition Act fol. Anyway, so you guys know how much I love makeup right? But through out my many trials and errors of the many brands out there, I’ve never ever found myself fancying Korean makeup. Korean skincare, I love, but makeup? I have my concerns. First of all, the colour range in Korean brands never suit me, ever. The bane of having darker skin in a big big Asian world. Second of all, a lot of times their packaging are too cutesy and pink for my liking. (Hello Etude House!) And finally, I never could get past the fact that Korean makeup brands or more like the Korean community have always came up with weird and strange standards of beauty. Think puffy eye bags, ullzang, aegyo sal. =_=”

So, it was with a hint of apprehension that I attended the recent event organized by The Butterfly Project & Muse By Watsons to get to know 3CE makeup & the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly (which isn’t a Korean brand fyi)

From left: 3-Concept Triple Eye Shadow, Shimmer Glow Bloc (RRP112), & the Duo Cover Concealer (RRP153)

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (8)

We had a quick intro to 3CE, and were told that Muse By Watsons have just officially brought them into their store in Sunway Pyramid. Woohoo, 3CE fans rejoice! ❤ I swear everytime I go into the Muse store, my money just flies away 😀

Product: Glossing Waterful Foundation (RRP177) Check out Paris B’s review on it 😉

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (2)

I had a chance to play around with their infamous lip pigments, (RRP 78) which I know is one of 3CE’s best selling products! I really liked the lip pigments, and I think I’m going to pick up a few colours for myself soon. ❤ There are 7 shades available, including a pure white pigment that is used to lighten the darker if need be.

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (1)

More pretty pictures just because I love taking pictures of makeup ❤ Oh and all pictures are credited to my trusty Samsung Galaxy Mega!

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (3)

Apart from 3CE, we had the chance to discover the latest product in the Indeed Labs range, the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly. (RRP 99/30ml) It literally is the big sister of Hydraluron’s Moisture Serum, and acts as a topical moisturizer. I think its a really cool product from first impressions, because first of all, its in jelly form, and second of all, the moisturizer pump is one of a kind. Forgetful me failed to take a picture of it in the excitement, but you can view more pics of the cool pump here. Yes, I have officially called a product pump “cool”.

The moisture jelly contains PatcH2O, a micro network moisture complex, which saturates the skin with fast-absorbing ingredients and Fucogel, which helps to form a protective film on the skin’s surface to defend against moisture evaporation. At the same time, the hyaluronic acid in it works to help improve hydration levels and stimulate collagen production, leaving skin plump and with improved texture. Its a product that’s best used together with the moisture serum, so that you get maximum hydration on the skin.

If you spot with your eagle eye, the Eysilix tube has got me wanting more. Its actually an eye cream that helps to nourish and re-energise the skin around your eyes and contains 10 peptides tohelp to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles while targeting fine lines and wrinkles. Imma get Eysilix soon!

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (4)

Next up, we have the 3CE Pore Silky Balm (RRP83), which is a makeup primer in solid form. This was a hit with me, I really loved the texture of the primer and how it sits on my skin. Its applied with a sponge, and you can blend with a brush, sponge, or even your fingers.

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (9)

Oh and the main highlight besides the skincare & makeup products was the food! The event was held at A Pie Thing, a cute little hipster-ish joint in Damansara Uptown. I highly recommend you guys to drop by, because their pies taste really good, and with huge portions too. Prices for dem pies range from RM11.90-15.90 if I’m not mistaken.

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (10)

I got the Chicken & Mushroom Pie with mashed potato & peas. Omnomnomnom!

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (5)

While nomming, there was a quick demonstration by the 3CE makeup artist, showing us how to use the products to their best potential, correctly. Did you know that that the lip pigments can be used as cream blushes too? 🙂

3CE & Indeed labs Moisture Jelly (7)

All in all, I had a great time with the girls, munching on pies, getting to know 3CE a little better, and I guess I’m not so adverse to trying out Korean makeup moving forward, lol! Since I received some items from 3CE, I’ll give those a proper go and report back! And I’m going to be giving the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly a run as well, so I’ll keep you guys posted.

March Empties!

Hey girls & boys!

I’ve actually never done an empties post before since I started this blog, and I guess this a collective empties for the year 2015 so far. Now I’ve been trying to finish up my products since I realized I had too many of them lying around collecting dust and being of no use. Some of these products have been a staple in my routine & some were new additions.

PS: Some of these products were sent to me, some were bought by myself, but it will not affect my review on them.

PPS: Let me know if you want full, proper reviews on any of these products, and I shall oblige 🙂

Optimized-Shashay Empties March

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume : This is my second bottle of dry shampoo that I’ve finished, the first being the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Original Clean & Classic.  I love me some dry shampoo, and I usually use them on the 3rd day after a hair wash just maintain a less greasy looking scalp. I have no complaints on the dry shampoo, it does what it says & considering I’m on my 3rd bottle now, I must say I love it! Currently I’m using the Batiste Fruity & Cheeky in Cherry. They retail for MR25.90 at local supermarkets. Repurchase? Oh you bet! ❤

Phyto Phytocyane Densifying Treatment Shampoo: I bought this simply because it claimed to address hair thinning, so I fell hook, line and sinker. It didn’t eradicate my hair thinning completely, but it did minimize it. It acts like a clarifying shampoo, and my hair was healthy when I was using it, though it did leave my hair feeling slightly dry. My hair loss issues aren’t gonna go away with a shampoo, but at least this helped. This shampoo retails for RM96 at Luxola Malaysia. Repurchase? Yep, sure will, since its a cheaper alternative to the Rahua Shampoo!

Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream: I didn’t expect to love this moisturizer as much as I did, but I do. It keeps my skin hydrated, no breakouts occurred while I was using it, and leaves skin looking matte. Kiehls did a marvelous job developing this!  I used this whole jar up in 3 months, and have been planning to get another jar soon, but I need to finish up my current stash of moisturizers first. The product retails for RM105 at local Kiehls outlets. Repurchase? Yes, once I go through my skincare drawer and finish everything else! 😀

Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment: I got this product from a giveaway, and it was part of the Tarte Sweet Dreams collection. I used it all up in less than a month, since it was just a small jar of product. It claims to hydrate, firm and brighten the delicate eye area, but I couldn’t see much of a difference after a month of using it. Either I have to use this product longer, or it just doesn’t work for me. And since I don’t have wrinkles or any dryness around my eyes to begin with, how could I see difference? I’m not sure how much this retails for, but I do know a small jar of this & the sample sized Tarte Maracuja Oil retails for RM47 at local Sephora outlets. Repurchase? Nope. Will be spending my money on a better eye cream, like the Clarins one I’ve been eyeing. Pun totally intended!

Rahua Shampoo: This was another whim purchase off Luxola, and was recommended to me by someone I knew. It claims to fortify weak, damaged strands while nourishing and regenerating the scalp and hair follicles, allowing for hair to grow longer and stronger. And as all hair products go, I fell for the claim. It did keep my hair long and strong, and definitely kept my scalp healthy, though my hair loss still remained. This was a pricey purchase too, since 275ml of product retails for RM 129.50 on Luxola Malaysia. I liked the scent of the shampoo, it smelled like molasses and sugar, and always left my hair smelling sweet and nice. Le jaan used to say my hair smelled like syrup lol! Repurchase? If I had the extra cash, definitely.

b.liv Hyaluronic Original Hydration Essence: This was sent to me for a review, and I did rave aplenty on the blog post on it which you can read here. Repurchase? I already have Hydraluron, which is a more cost-effective hyaluronic acid serum, though with Hydraluron’s recent price increase, I’m not so sure anymore. :/ Damn you GST!

Hydraluron by Indeed Labs: This is also another hyaluronic acid serum that I purchased for moisture boosting my skin, and my thoughts on it are available here. Repurchase level? Amazeballs!!

Last but not least, the Vichy Normaderm Daily Deep Cleansing Gel: This I bought simply Paris B raves to no end about it, and I just had to pick up a bottle for myself. And I’m actually on my second bottle now, which says a lot, since I always find myself changing cleansers as often as I change clothes lol! I love this cleanser, it keeps my skin balanced, hydrated, and most importantly, clear! I haven’t had acne, breakout, not even hormonal ones for the past few months. This is only available via Luxola Malaysia currently, I’m afraid and retails for RM69.50. A tad pricey no doubt, but a price I’d pay for clear skin, so definitely a repurchase worthy product.

So there you have it lovelies, my empties for this month. I’ll try and finish up more products and get another empties post up soon ❤ Hopefully I manage to finish up some makeup too, because I have yet to hit pan on anything so far!

Do comment if you would like full reviews on anything mentioned, or if you’ve tried any of these products, and loved or hated them. I would love to know more! 🙂

Hydraluron : Hit or Miss?

How often do you pick up an item based on a positive review you read somewhere? Maybe via word of mouth from a friend of a friend of a friend? Sometimes, all the time, never? Guilty here!

Personally, I read A LOT of product reviews in general, and every girly outing I have always involves and ends with discussions, reviews and debates on whether a product has failed us, amazed us, or left us feeling a little meh. I love my girlfriends to death, but sometimes I swear they’re bad for my bank account 😉 Yes I mean you Arpita

On top of my girlfriends trying to bankrupt me, I also have people like Paris B who are enablers to my endless shopping addiction, who feeds my daily dose of pretty via her product reviews & my review of the Hydraluron Moisture Booster today is all thanks to her as well!

After reading her review of the infamous Hydraluron, I pretty much felt like this.

First of all, I didn’t know Hydraluron was available locally. *smacks head on wall*

Once I knew it was within my reach,  I knew I had to try it out ASAP!

The only snag was that Hydraluron was available in Malaysia in one store only, would you believe that? And on top of that, half the time, Hydraluron is sold out. I remember as I was purchasing my own tube, the sales assistant was telling me, “Miss, you should get a few more tubes since we only have a couple of tubes of Hydraluron left, and the next shipment doesn’t come in until a months time”. If you see Hydraluron, pick it up before someone else does 🙂 Plus you’re ever in Sunway Pyramid and passing through Muse by Watsons, please pick me up some Hydraluron!

Anyway, I finally did drag my lazy butt to Sunway one fine day and got myself this baby, and can I just say, imma happy mama?? *insert wacky dance here*

hydraluron review

Hydraluron is the baby of Indeed Laboratories and is manufactured in the holy land of maple syrup, Canada. Muse by Watsons only carries 4 items from Indeed Laboratories, including Hydraluron(RM80),which is the Nanoblur  (RM65), Snoxin (RM130), and the Eysilix (RM99).

*Nanoblur is an instant skin perfector, and works much like a face primer, Snoxin is a facial line lifter and Eysilix is an eye cream.

I’ve actually also got my eye on Nanoblur, since reviews are telling me that its good stuff. (see how easily swayed I am by glowing reviews? Thank you Internet!)

At the first glance, Hydraluron comes in a very simple, clinical, packaging but that pink, oh boy! I’m not a big fan of pink, but I do love the pink box it comes in. One tube of Hydraluron contains 30 ml of hyaluronic acid, however, as I’m reading through the ingredient list, I don’t see Hyaluronic acid listed in it, instead I see Sodium Hyaluronate, the salt version of the acid. I’m not entirely sure why that is, maybe the raw, pure hyaluronic acid is too strong for direct application?

hydraluron review (2)

hydraluron review (6)

And if you’re new to beauty jargon, hello, and a few things about hyaluronic acid, its is literally the best thing that ever happened to skincare, as it is boosts moisture in skin like anything, it also slows down aging, and has also been touted as the key ingredient in healing scars.

Hydraluron is a clear liquid with a consistency slightly thicker than water, which means it is a little tacky and not as runny as water. To be perfectly honest, it has the consistency of snot. Come on, you know what I mean 😆 The liquid is very easily absorbed, and leaves skin feeling matte-er than usual.

IMPORTANT: Hydraluron is a serum, and you use this underneath your moisturizer as this isn’t a topical moisturizer.

According to the description on the box, “the serum provides below the surface hydration and is NOT a substitute for any moisturizing creams. Using this product increases the skins ability to retain moisture over time and reduces the amount of topical moisturizers needed to maintain ideal skin hydration.”

hydraluron review (5)

I had a few concerns and apprehensions about using Hydraluron as some people reported cystic acne and massive skin flare ups. If you have sensitive skin, or if your skin cant handle hyaluronic acid in large amounts, you may want to stay off this product.  I decided to have a go, since curiosity was killing me, and I already bought the darn thing hadn’t I? 😛

Directions of use: I use Hydraluron twice a day, morning and night, and its the first thing that goes onto my skin after my toner, and then my other serum, moisturizer, etc. I use a pea size amount for my whole face area. After application, skin will feel slightly tacky, but continue on with your normal skincare routine.

hydraluron review (3)

One thing about the tube-screw on packaging though, I haven’t seen this happening to anyone else, so it might just be me, but every-time I place the tube horizontally on my vanity, the next day, a little bit of Hydraluron seems to leak out and I have to scoop it up out of the cap. I have now placed in standing vertically with the cap at the top to prevent any spillage, and that seems to be working fine.

hydraluron review (1)

Personal Thoughts: One month down the road after using Hydraluron, I do not notice significant changes on my skin, HOWEVER, I noticed little things like how softer my skin feels now compared to a month back. Any acne scars I have seem to heal much faster, and my skin has a certain glow to it. Even my skin texture feels much nicer now and applying makeup is a breeze because they glide on so smoothly onto my skin. Oil seeds seem to extract easier, and my skin is just so plump and full!

Mum casually mentioned that my skin seems brighter and I agree, my skin looks much better than it did one month ago.  Moisture wise, I don’t really know because how does one measure moisture levels? I don’t have dry patches, and my skin feels smooth and soft all day, so I’m assuming Hydraluron is doing its job. *I might need to get that device that measures moisture levels at some point*

I think Hydraluron doesn’t improve hydration in an obvious way, but does it very sneakily, because all its magic is deep down under the skin. 🙂

Is Hydraluron something I’ll continue to use? Of course, I still have 3/4 of a tube left! Repurchase? Yes! If I were to sum up Hydraluron in one word, it would be this:

Have you tried Hydraluron before? What do you think of it? Lemme know!

Hydraluron Moisture Booster is available at  Muse by Watson’s at Sunway Pyramid for RM88 (30ml).
