BTW, that means hello girls in Spanish 🙂 I’ve been eyeing the recent M.A.C limited edition collections that have been launching recently one by one, and oh boy can I say, some of them are really pretty! The most recent ones include Cinderella Collection, the Bao Bao Wan Collection, and of course, the M.A.C Isabel & Ruben Toledo Collection. I’m no big fan of M.A.C and their limited edition collections, but once in a while they do make really gorgeous products which I cant say no to.
To be very honest, I was slightly impressed with the service at M.A.C at Sunway Pyramid from my previous purchase with them, so I went back there again to pick up something from the LE collections. From all the swatching and browsing, I finally decided to get the Isabel & Ruben Toledo Lipstick in the shade Opera. I did want Oxblood, (which isn’t even oxblood in colour wtf which I don’t understand =_=”) but it was all sold out. Anyone seen it lurking around at any of the MAC outlets?
Fashion’s most romantic couple, Isabel and Ruben Toledo, are renowned for their award-winning and imaginative work in fashion design and illustration. Isabel and Ruben Toledo lend their vibrant eye for fashion and art to a collection of irreverent colour designed to inspire endless play. This unique collaboration with M·A·C pairs Isabel’s sensational penchant for colour with Ruben’s vibrant energy in a palette of hues designed to sculpt, paint and transform the face. Specially designed white packaging features Ruben’s illustrations, an array of graphic lines and red-lipped faces brought to life with his one-of-a-kind aesthetic.
Have fun watching the video, I found myself dancing to the tune <3 They look like they’re having so much fun!
Product Description: Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips in a rouge-y matte range of reds. The iconic product that made M∙A∙C famous. Specially designed white packaging features Ruben’s illustrations of graphic lines and faces in his one-of-a-kind aesthetic.
The lipstick range comes in 6 beautiful limited edition shades, & I was initially torn between Tenor Voice, Opera & Victoriana, but finally decide on Opera, which is a blue based matte red shade. Victoriana was a pinky based red, and Tenor Voice is an orange based red, and I really really wanted them but, sadly, I’m saving up for upcoming Spring/Summer releases that I’ve been eyeing, especially from Givenchy, and Hourglass.

Don’t you just love those gorgeous reds?
Personal Thoughts: The finish of these lipsticks are your typical MAC Mattes, but not as dry as the Retro Matte range. I think the finish is more like an Amplified. Packaging wise, it comes in a white bullet with the Toledo signature, and a funky design on the bottom of the bullet. The bullet material is slightly rubbery, so PLEASE do not get any lipstick on it, or it will stain forever and be doomed to ugly marks.
The red is so vibrant against my tan skin! And this is just one soft swipe mind you 😀 Ohh it’s so pretty!
The colour and pigmentation of this lipstick is just crazy! One swipe of the red, and it was love at first sight. The colour is a deep, daring red, matte yet not drying at all. I get at least 7-8 hours of wear with this lipstick, with no smudging or wearing. It definitely is a long wearing lip colour, since it feels moisturizing all day long, with no discomfort.
The ingredients in case you were curious.
I just love rocking that roaring red! ❤
PS: Necklace from Reds Revenge
To sum things up, if you love pigmented, long-lasting lip colours, give this a go, and you may very well fall in love with it, just like I did. Packaging is an A+ plus too! I really have no complaints 🙂
