Review: Egyptian Magic Cream

Hey awesomesauces!

If you remember my Luxola haul many many moons ago, I got myself the Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream, however, I have yet to come around to review it due to the fact that my dear mum wanted it for herself, so I passed on that particular tub to her ❤ Thanks to Natta Cosme recently though, I got myself a brand new one to try and review, so thank you very muchly Natta Cosme!

Now a little about the Egyptian Magic Cream, it has probably has garnered more kudos in the fashion press than any comparable product in the world. From Japan to Australia to Europe and the US, top celebrities in the film and fashion industries agree that the Egyptian Magic Cream is a “must-have” beauty and skin care product. They use it on the face, skin, hair, cuts, burns, bruises, rashes, everywhere!

Egyptian Magic Cream Review (3)

The Egyptian Magic Cream has been touted as being all natural due to its magical 6 ingredients. Now the most interesting thing about the Egyptian Magic Cream is that it contains ONLY 6 ingredients! Believe it or not, 6 ONLY!

The magical 6 ingredients include Olive Oil, Beeswax, Honey, Pollen, Royal Jelly and Propolis Extract.

Egyptian Magic Cream Review (5)

The Egyptian Magic Cream is a product of United States containing natural ingredients, no additives, preservatives, fragrances, chemicals or parabens. It’s a very solidified, waxy, oil-based product as you can see from all its ingredients above, so the product will provide the best results if you soften it by warming it up in your palms before applying it.

Egyptian Magic Cream Review (2)

As you can see, the Egyptian Magic Cream is very thick and soft, similar to Vaseline in consistency, maybe slightly thicker even. The cream comes in a jar form, so if you are looking to scoop up the product, do use a small spatula just for hygiene purposes, or if you’re too lazy to do that, wash your hands before dipping it into the pot 😀

It doesn’t have a scent in its solid form, however once you warm it up and it starts to melt, you get a rather waxy oily scent that I’m sure a few people out there wouldn’t prefer. Personally it doesn’t bother me too much but nevertheless, it is an acquired scent.

I take a small amount and rub it in my hands until it softens and turns into oil, then gently apply to my skin. A little Egyptian Magic goes a long way. Now the Egyptian Magic Cream melts to an oily consistency, so I don’t usually use it when I’m going out for fear of looking like an oil factory. What I do instead is, after showering, I apply the Egyptian Magic Cream on the most dry parts of my body, namely my elbows, legs, and most recently, my stomach area.

Egyptian Magic Cream Review (4)

For the past week or so, I’ve been having a rather bad dry patch on my tummy area, and no matter how much I’ve applied lotions and creams on it, it has still been bothering me. Since I was already using the Egyptian Magic Cream on other parts of my body, I applied a good amount of it on the dry patch for 3 days in a row, and now, I’m all moisturized, and the dry patch has completely disappeared! And not to mention, it absorbs quite fast while leaving a slight oily residue on my skin afterwards.

I iz very amazed!

Other alternative uses for the Egyptian Magic cream? If you are applying it to your hair, warm it up and then gently rub it into the ends of your hair. You can also apply it to your hair and scalp as a hair mask. Just let it sit for an hour or more, and then wash it out with shampoo. Apparently, the Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream also for smoothing out rough pigmentation, acne, and stretch marks. (which I do have a lot of) It also can be used as a makeup remover if you wish, similar to a cleansing balm I suppose 🙂

In a nutshell, Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream is a great product to have in stock, since it has such a diverse usage. (I’ve heard its good for healing burns too). You can pick it up at Natta Cosme, and they have 2 different sizes in stock for you. The one I received was the 59 ml one, and the other one size that they have is the 118 ml one.

If you aren’t sure whether you want to purchase the full-sized tub and would like to sample it, no worries there, Natta Cosme has graciously offered to gift 3 of my readers with the 2 sachets (3ml each) of the Egyptian Magic Cream 🙂

[Review] Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner

Another eye liner review, I know.
I should probably change this blogs name to already right?

Moving on, lemme introduce you to ⭐ of the day, THE Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner. Most of the time, gel eyeliner comes in pot forms, and application with a brush is mandatory. The whole process of dipping the brush into a pot, drawing on your eyes, and cleaning up the brush can get a little tedious, so I’m guessing the people of Miss Hana wanted their consumers to have a product that is a little less time-consuming and to make life easier for those of us who are not used to drawing on eyeliner with a brush.

Hence, gel eyeliner in a pencil form.

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (1)

Natta Cosme sent over two of Miss Hana Gel Eyeliners for me to try out, one in Night Black, and the other in Choco Brown.  Yay, more eyeliners to be added to my ever-growing pile! 😉

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (4)

The pencils look just like regular eyeliner pencils, and isn’t the twisty type, but the ones where you would need to sharpen them. Personally, I’m not  a fan of eyeliners which require sharpening, it’s really too much work to keep sharpening them and on top of that you would need to have a sharpener, which in my case I do not own. Which explains why most of my eyeliners are the twisty pen types.

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (2)

Pretty pink packaging. Are you girl enough for the liners? 😛

Product Highlights: The eyeliner is supposed to be waterproof, has extreme pigmentation, is smooth and lasts the whole day without smudging. It comes in 4 colours, 01 Night Black, 02 Galaxy Black, 03 Choco Brown, & 04 Golden Brown.

Miss Hana

All 4 colours

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (7)

Closeup of the gel liners. The tips look hard but are actually really creamy and soft.

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (3)

Swatches of the gel liners.
Top: Choco Brown
Bottom: Night Black. duh

If you look closely, the brown gel liner has tiny bits of silver shimmers in them. Not sure if I like it, but a little glitter in life is always a good thing no?

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (6)

More drawing and swatching. Why does my skin look ashy in this picture? Gosh my lighting sucks.

Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner (8)

Personal Thoughts on the Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner Pencil: I used both the eye liners, and I would agree with the no smudging part, it definitely stays on the eyes and doesn’t budge. Pigmentation wise, both the eyeliners have great pigmentation, but the black one has better colour deposits, and the brown one, not so much. I think my brown skin makes the pigmentation look lighter. Fairer skin may love this brown eyeliner more than I do. It’s definitely waterproof because I ended up spilling water on my whole face while wearing the liner, and it didn’t smudge one bit. If you’re curious how I split water all over my face, comment and I’ll tell you!

Cons? I have to sharpen the pencils now. I get about 2-3 uses each time and I already have to sharpen the pencils. A little annoying if I’m in a rush, which I always am, LOL!  😀 I guess the Miss Hana Sharpener would have come in handy at this point, if not you can use any old sharpener you have lying around 🙂

Brushes make it easier for precise application of gel liner, whereas with the pencil gel liner, you would have to just wing it *haha wing it, get it? okay I’m not so punny I know*. But yes, pencil eyeliner is a tad less precise.

Price wise? The Miss Hana Gel Eyeliner is RM 24.90, which is actually a little pricey for a pencil liner, bit if its convenience you need, then this liner is certainly worth the investment. No more dipping into pots after this!

I actually really like the Night Black liner, since its convenient, and the pigmentation is awesome. On top of that, I can use it to touch up my Maybelline Gel Liner if I have to. *gasp* I don’t have to carry the pot and the brush in my makeup bag anymore!!

*smaller pictures because who wants to see my eyes magnified 9992732749 times?

Choco Brown

For all you ingredient fiends out there. Nothing dangerous or toxic *hallelujah*

Review: Beautymate Purifying & Hydrating Nano Toner + Mask

Toner. Ahh. It refreshes your skin, sometimes with a tingly touch!

Toner is the one thing in my skincare regime that I always forget, and the one product that doesn’t really excite me as much as it should.

Honestly speaking, I don’t really see the need for toner, since most of them leave my skin squeaky dry, and I attribute this to the fact that most toners contains alcohol.

I remember my first toner ever, it was the Clean and & Clear one, packaged in a blue bottle. This was when I was a wee lass of 13 , and I loved how much it smelled so fresh and clean. I stopped using it after a while though because it made my skin too dry.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve probably gone through bottles and bottles of toner and I’ve never came across another toner that smelled the C&C one. Imagine my surprise when I finally found the Beautymate Purifying & Hydrating Nano Toner, and on the first whiff, I was taken back to my early teenage years, and this time, without the drying side effects.

shashay (3)

Natta Cosme have been very lovely to their natta-licious bloggers, and recently I got sent the Beautymate toner to try out, and I’m so glad they did.  🙂

The toner comes packaged in a bright yellow glass bottle which looks so good on my vanity. Always an added bonus! BTW, the toner bottle is super heavy due to the glass packaging.

shashay (4)

The toner is a spritz on type with a removable cap.

shashay (5)

The toner is supposed to brighten up the skin tone, soften the skin, and increases moisture balance up to 15 hours.

The main contents of the toner are Pearl extracts, Ginkgo biloba extract, Morus Alba extract, Glucosamine aggregation sugar, Aloe Vera extract, Licorice extract & Hyaluronic acid.

shashay (1)

Personal Thoughts: I’ve been using the toner for a while now, and the most pronounced effect is the hydrating properties of the toner. I’m not sure if the toner itself is hydrating, or if it allows better absorption of my skincare. Either way, something is working right for me. It does make my skin feel more ‘boing’, instead of squeaky, and I love that! The toner isn’t sticky, and absorbs really quick so I can slap on my moisturizer in the next minute.

I’m not going to explain how to use the toner since its pretty much self explanatory, but a note, I prefer spritzing in onto my palms and patting it in rather than using a cotton pad. Just my personal preference.

Most Japanese skincare toners are actually not toners per-se, but act more like lotions which have moisturizing properties, which I think what the Beautymate toner actually is.

I like the toner, and like I mentioned, the scent is probably the thing that attracts me to the most. It smells like my first ever toner, which is super nostalgic. If you’re looking to try out a new toner and lock some moisture into that face, why not give the Beautymate toner a try?

The toner retails for RM44.91 for 120ml and is available on the Natta Cosme site here:

And as usual, Natta Cosme style, they have included an extra in my package, the Beautymate Purifying & Hydrating Nano Mask.  🙂

shashay (6)

The mask is also for locking in that extra moisture into your skin, and is just a lovely bonus to my skin! I’ve heard quite a bit about the Beautymate masks (seems like they have very good marketing techniques), but they do feel extra luxurious. I put on the mask for about 15 minutes (watched a quarter of the latest Vampire Diaries episode, *gasp* did you see what Katherine did this time?) and then patted the remaining mask juice onto my skin 🙂

I’m not going to show you my mask face ( i really don’t see the point of showing the world mask faces, do you?) for fear of scaring the daylights out of you, but here’s a post mask selfie 😉

Bare faced, with eye bags, but radiant skin nonetheless.

The mask retails for RM33.21 for 7 pieces and is available here:

[Review] Natta Cosme; Cerro Qreen Make-Up Brushes

Hello awesomesauces!

I return with a review today, so lemme introduce the star of this post, the Cerro Qreen Cosmetic Makeup Brush Set!  In all honesty, I have been thinking that the make-up brush brand was called Cerro QUeen instead of Cerro QReen. Tell me you made the same mistake too? 😉 LOL!

Confession time! I hoard make-up brushes. I own SO many of them, I’m ashamed to admit it. There isn’t a reason to why I own so many brushes, call me insane or the crazy brush lady, but seriously, I think I may have serious hoarder issues. Make-up brushes are important, don’t you think so? The tools you use to create art must be of good quality to ensure your art is amazing as well.

Usually I purchase my brushes separately, since buying them in a set can easily set you back anywhere from RM300-RM500 ++.  But when I saw the Cerro Qreen brushes from Natta Cosme, I was pleasantly surprised to find out the set cost only RM36.90 !  And the lucky girl that I am, I got picked by Natta Cosme to review these babies!

A shoutout to Natta Cosme for being a champ, and delivering the brushes to me in no time at all, whilst keeping me updated until I got them! Thank you for sponsoring the brushes Natta Cosme , heart you forever!

Here are my box of goodies, right on time for Christmas.

shashay (2)

I love the fact Natta Cosme always does sweet things for its customers, in this case, they included a Ferrero Rocher chocolate for me to nom!

shashay (3)

On to the review. Whoosshh!

The Cerro Qreen Brushes are from the USA, since they are based there. They come in a set of 7 brushes, packed neatly in a soft, pink,PU leather case (it is so soft I want to hug it and caress it all the time). It also comes with a long strap which I have been loving since I can just wrap it around the case in less than 2 seconds and I’m good to go! Easy for travelling too.

They’re all packed neatly, and the fluffy powder brush comes with a brush guard too!

shashay (4)

As you can see, the brushes are pink in colour, and even the bristle tip too! Very girly and cute 🙂 I like the fact that the bristles are white in colour as I will know when I need to clean them. The OCD in me rejoices! My favourite brush is the big eye-shadow brush, since I use those brushes the most.

Individual review time! The 7 brushes are as follows:

  1. Your giant, fluffy, typical powder brush.
  2. A dense, big eye-shadow brush, ideal for packing on colour on to the lid.
  3. A dense, medium eye-shadow brush, perfect for those creases, and creating smokey eyes,
  4. A dense, small eye-shadow brush, for those inner corners and to highlight the brow bone.
  5. An eyeliner brush, for creating perfect, precise, crisp lines.
  6. The eyelash brush to style eyebrows as well as separate lashes before or after mascara application.

But really, brushes are versatile, you can use them for different applications. I remember using an eyeliner brush to pat concealer on once. *desperate times*

The thing about brushes in a set, I always have a feeling I might not use all of them, but in this case, I was wrong, because I can see myself using all these brushes, as they are basic brushes every make-up loving girl should own.

The brushes themselves are made from natural goat wool, and are 0.05 mini fibres, which means more product pickup, and better packing. The fibres themselves are have anti-bacterial properties, not sure how though, which means if you are sensitive to to natural animal bristles, this brushes may be something you want to try. The fibres also don’t shed! I tried pulling on them to be sure, and nothing!

The brush handles are made of synthetic material rods, which is amazing since natural wood brush handles have a tendency to get ruined when it comes into contact with water.

These brushes feel super soft on the skin, and I couldn’t wait to try them out, so I used my Naked 3 palette and created a simple look. You can check out my Naked 3 review here as well!

This is a look I did with the Cerro Qreen eye-shadow brushes. The colours I used were Strange on the brow bone (Big Eye-shadow Brush) , Burnout all over the lids (Big Eye-shadow Brush), Trick on the crease (Medium Eye-shadow Brush), and Darkside (Small Eye-shadow Brush) on the outer corners. And a bit of  Dust on the inner corner (Small Eye-shadow Brush) . And the eyeliner I used is the Loreal Super Liner Blockbuster . You can read my review on the liner here.

shashay (5)

Hope you guys like the look. 🙂

And once again, thank you Natta Cosme! I love my new brush set!

shashay (1)

Tell me what you think about the post, and if you would want to try these brushes as well!. They are available in many other colours as well, like purple, blue, and black. And Natta Cosme is having a sale for these brushes too, currently they’re only retailing at RM29.52/ USD10. So check them out before they get sold out! I know for a fact these pink ones I have are already sold out days ago.

As usual, useful links:

On a closing note, yes I love my new brush set, and I would use these brushes everyday! I’m thinking of purchasing a set for a giveaway, would guys want one too? Lemme know in the comments!

Butterfly Project School, Chapter 1: Natta Cosme THAYERS Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera Toner

Hello awesomepeeps!

Thank goodness this post is up! You wouldn’t believe the amount of sweat that went into this post! Since I don’t have a mailing address in KL, all my stuff gets routed to my parents place in Perak, so I had to go back to Perak a few weeks back to pick up this parcel, come back to KL for work the same day and only then type out this blog post !  *I do it all for my butterflies* 🙂

Anyway, lets get on to the review shall we? First of all, Thank you Butterfly Project for picking me in this awesome collaboration with NattaCosme  for a product review! Its so exciting being a part of the Butterfly Community as well as working with different brands and trying out new products! A girls ultimate dream ❤

This parcel didn’t arrive at my doorstep like I mentioned, since I had to go back to Perak to fetch it, but I un-boxed in when I got back home to KL. I was superduper excited since I have been waiting for a while to see what was in the box! *insert crazy happy mad witch dance here*

Unboxing time!

Unboxing time!

The box itself is pretty heavy, and the Natta Cosme team have done an awesome job with the details! Its decorated so beautifully, and it looks to me like an amazing pre-Diwali present! (Yes there is such a thing!) And I see my name on it to! Yay personalization! The box is carefully wrapped in the foam peanuts and paper shavings so that the products don’t get damaged! 😉

foam and paper

foam and paper

The box contains so many things, and here they are!

My Goodies from Natta Cosme!

My Goodies from Natta Cosme!

Inside was a special letter from them, and I can see that Natta Cosme really has went the extra mile to make the customer feel super happy un-boxing their product! OMG THE BOX COMES WITH BUBBLE WRAP! I love popping bubble wrap every time I get something in the mail!

I think so too!

I think so too!

Now let me introduce Natta Cosme first okay? They started in 2011, and they have an amazing array of products from Taiwan, Japan and Korea, USA, and the UK at their website. They also have an actual offline store in Seremban, i’ll link it at the end of the post!

Lets review the product shall we? What I received was a whole box of goodies and the main star of the box is The THAYERS® Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera Toner.  Its basically blended rose petal water with Witch Hazel extract and Vitamin E in the toner. This combination is supposed to aid pore tightening, smoothing and beautifying skin without drying it, like how most toners do, due to the fact that there is ABSOLUTELY NO alcohol in the toner. The toner is actually mainly purified water with all the amazing extracts of Vitamin E, and certified organic Aloe Vera.

The toner!

The toner!

Un-screw cap, unseal the bottle, and re-screw the cap back on!

Un-screw cap, unseal the bottle, and re-screw the cap back on!

The bottle has a simple and vintage-y design, reminds me of something out of the 60’s, and the bottle is transparent, so you can see how much product you have left! Some products come with bottles where I cant see through and I never know when it is gonna run out! At least with the Thayers Rose Petal Toner, I’ll know when to repurchase! It also comes with the flip cap, which makes it easy to control how much product you’re gonna use at a time. A lot of toners come with the screw on cap and I always will pour too much out and then? SPILLL! The simplest things matter to me since I have to use these products on a daily basis and I’m always rushing, so I wanna minimize accidents! =D *are you a klutz like me too?*

As you can see, the bottle is SUPER huge, which is something I love, since it is value for money! Its 355 ml! I can tone my face, neck, and shoulders, and it will still last me at least 4-5 months. The toner smells absolutely divine, like roses in a bottle, but not so overpowering that the scent puts you off. The smell lingers for a while, and after 5-10 minutes, only a hint of the smell is noticeable, which is something I appreciate, because I don’t like heavily scented products. It makes me feel suffocated.  😉

Product description: Made of extract from the Witch Hazel shrub (Hamamelis Virginiana) and a blend of other time-tested ingredients – THAYERS® Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera Formula Astringents and Alcohol-Free Toners are soothing, natural treatments that cleanse, tone and soothe your skin. THAYERS® are the only Witch Hazel products made of non-distilled extract from the Witch Hazel shrub maintaining the highest levels of therapeutic tannins.

Ingredients : Purified Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Certified Organic Filet Of Aloe Vera), Glycerin (Vegetable), Fragrance (Natural Rose) Hamamelis Virginiana (THAYERS® proprietary un-distilled Witch Hazel) Extract, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Water, Citric Acid, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Tocopheryl (Vitamin E) Acetate.
The toner is alcohol free, Paraben free, and Propelyne Glycol Free! Basicaly what it means is that there isn’t any alcohol or preservatives in this toner! So its super safe for use.

The Thayers Rose Petal Toner comes from the USA, and was developed almost 10 years ago by Rose Thayer. Such a long heritage no? The tagline for the product is actually “Rose’s secret to looking 10 years younger”, since she used to get comments on how young she looked!
The toner retails for RM45.00 only! I think its a good buy since it would last you like forever!

I use the toner with the Suzuran Lily Bell Lilian Puff cotton pads that came in the box as well, since toners must always be properly used with cotton pads to aid absorption and to make your life easy as well! What I noticed was that the cotton pads are not like the regular ones I usually use, since it seems to be made of a few separate layers. According to the product description, the cotton pads are made out of 100% cotton, meaning no fuzzies will left after use, which was true by the way! Apparently it is made using superior cotton that is noticeably softer and allows you to reduce your usage of cosmetic products and easily remove makeup and nail polish, since it doesn’t absorb too much product.
It retails for RM9.90 only for 222 cotton pads! Such value for money!

Personal experience of using the toner: I’ve been using the toner for about two weeks++ now, and after each application of the toner, I feel my skin is much softer, cleaner and supple. The feeling after you apply the toner this weird tingly, cool feeling, like your skin is getting a massage by many many tiny leprechauns or something. LOL. I don’t know how to explain it! Obviously only using a toner isn’t going to miraculously give me beautiful baby’s bottom skin, since skincare is a whole army and regimen of products!  But since incorporating this toner into my daily use, I do see my face is looking much more refreshed. Sometimes it removes dirt that is still embedded in my skin after cleansing!
Pour toner onto cotton pad, gently wipe, enjoy tingly feeling, and voila!

Pour toner onto cotton pad, gently wipe, enjoy tingly feeling, and voila!

Pros: Cost effective, keeps skin soft and supple, and smells really nice!
Cons: Heavy bottle, which isn’t really a con, since there is so much product in it!

After using the toner, whats next? For me its my face creams, serums and what not, and Natta has been so kind as to provide me with the Egyptian Magic  All Purpose Skin Cream to try out as well! It is an ALL-NATURAL, multi-purpose, healing skin and hair creme to use for your body, hair, and face to maintain beautiful akin, and it also has healing properties to take care of your skin! OMG wait, I forgot one more item in the unboxing! It was hidden in the corner of the box, so I only found it much later! Natta Cosme actually has a super quirky description of their brand and they actually took the time to print out all of these nicely, plus include the products descriptions! Smething about a galxy far away and all that! Too cute! Read up below!!
I really love that the product description was included since most brands expect you to research about the product yourself. NO LIKE OTHER BRANDS. *hmphhh*
