[Review] Sleek MakeUP Blush By 3 in Sugar

*Ill update this post with vain selfies of myself in the blushes soon.

Salut everybody!

I’m so happy its the weekend! I’ve just been going out with my girlfriends, eating good food, catching up, and just spending time with the people I love. ❤ It hasn’t been an easy week for me, since I’ve been feeling very ill lately, & making countless trips to and fro the doctor’s office.  Even my hair loss issues have flared up again after being okay for the past few months. And here I was thinking that problem was gone forever. Hopefully things will turn out better soon. Anyways.

I have been on a blush spree recently, and it seems that my blush collection continues to ever-grow. Good thing? Bad thing? You tell me 😉 I bought meself the Sleek MakeUP Blush By 3 Palette in the shade Sugar, and I have to admit, I didn’t expect to love it so much! I bought it on a whim while browsing on Luxola Malaysia, and the shade Sugar just called out to me like a siren song. To be honest, many of the shades called out to me, but I was on a budget, lol!

Personal Thoughts: The shade Sugar has 3 beautiful shades in it, from left, Turbinado, Muscovado & Demerara. Fun fact, the three shade names are actual brown sugars that are sold in the market! Lets start with the packaging, the blushes come with the standard Sleek MakeUP black case, which I have no complaints about since its so sturdy and travels well. I’ve dropped the palette once, (or twice) but the blushes have never shattered, thank goodness! Opening the case, we see a huge mirror, which I love! I’m glad that there is no crappy brush included in the palette, which means more product for me!

The palette is as big as my palm, and do pardon me for the dusty looking case.

Turbinado- Is a deep matte berry red and can be said to look like a terracotta. It isn’t chalky, and is quite pigmented. There is a slight pink tone to it as well.

Muscovado – A shimmery red bronze with a slight plummy tone to it. Slightly powdery and medium shimmers in it. Really pigmented but wearable. They are frosty in shine, an isn’t high metallic in shine.

Demerara – A deep matte orange shade. It isn’t chalky but not as pigmented as the shimmer shade.

I initially figured I’d love Turbinado the most, but surprisingly, I found Demerara to be more flattering on my skin tone instead. The pigmentation was a bit of surprise to me as Muscovado swatched the most pigmented, and I had to be very careful not to over apply. Turbinado & Demerara swatched quite lightly, though once applied on my skin, the colour was just right. The colours are definitely buildable, so you can control the amount of pigmentation you need.

From what I’ve gathered, the matte shades are finely milled, but they fade faster than the shimmer shade. Be careful not to over blend the matte shades, as they may lose colour completely.

Optimized-Sleek MakeUP Blush By 3 Review (5)

The blushes lasts at least 5-6 hours max before I need to reapply, so it isn’t the most long-lasting product in the market. Pigmentation is lovely on my yellow under-toned tanned skin, and all 3 shades fall beautifully on me. I usually use them separately, but sometimes I do mix and match as when I feel like it. Muscovado sometimes functions as a highlighter for me and since its very pigmented, so I do make sure to use a light hand on it. For Turbinado & Demerara, I can usually get away with over applying. I typically use a small dense brush to apply & blend, like the Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek.

Ingredients: Mica, Talc, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisosterate, Nylon-12, Magnesium Stearate, Jojoba Esters, Dimethicone, Polyethylene, Phenoxyethanol May Contain: Titanium Dioxide(Ci 77891), D&C Red No.7(Ci 15850:1), D&C Red No.30(73360), Yellow Iron Oxide(Ci 77492), Red Iron Oxide(Ci 77491), Black Iron Oxide(Ci 77499), Manganese Violet(Ci 77742)

Long story short, I love this blush palette, and imma get more for myself soon. Its cheap, and the quality can rival any high end blush I have. Its portable, tough, with 3 versatile shades for any occasion. I would highly recommend this product to you guys, and vouch for it a 100% ❤

My Luxola Malaysia Shopping Spree / Haul

Hello awesomesauces!

As the title says, I went on a shopping spree at Luxola Malaysia recently, and once again, I have lighter pockets. Oh dear me.

The truth is, its been raining heavily the past few days, and I have the post holidays blues, so I haven’t been feeling up to going out, or doing anything much for that matter, apart from re-watching Gossip Girl and online shopping. So I placed my orders for these babies, and am now waiting for them to arrive, but I was too excited for them to arrive, so I’m gonna write about them first!

And so we have the damage for this week! Presenting my Luxola Haul 😉

Item 1: i-Divine Au Naturel Palette by Sleek Make-Up

shashay (1)

I’ve been eyeing the Sleek Make-Up palettes for a while now, and have been considering either Au-Naturel or Sunset, and Au-Naturel was on sale, so add to cart! The earthy shades will fit perfectly for daily use, and the swatches online seem really gorgeous too. The palette is currently on sale for RM35.

Item 2: Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Boom Boom Pow

shashay (2)

This is the one shade I’ve been loving from the Deborah Lippmann range, and if you’ve seen the swatches online, the colour is uh-mazing! Apparently it contains 24K gold dust as well, which I don’t quite buy, but whatever, the Deborah Lippmann nail lacquers have impressing quality, and the reviews are glowing for her range of nail colours. Its retailing for Rm72.50 and only 4 bottles left in stock, so hurry if you want to get your hands on this colour!

Item 3: REN Glycolactic Skin Renewal Mask

shashay (3)

The Glycolactic Mask has been one of REN’s number one best selling product and its been winning awards left, right and centre for its success in renewing your complexion, reducing the appearance of fine lines and dramatically improving the skin tone. Its a tad pricey, but it works, and I’m game for REN. This is actually the MOST SUPER DUPER favourite product in my haul and the one I’m most excited to try! Its retailing for RM187.00.

Item 4: Egyptian Magic Cream

shashay

This product has been hailed the holy grail item for every skin ailment/problems/issues you might have. It can be used as a face cream, an eye gel, a hair masque, cuticle conditioner, diaper rash cream, prevents stretch marks, burn and wound relief, a baby cream, a shaving balm and anything else you can think of! WTF right?

I’m not sure if the claims are 100% true, but I’m willing to give this product a try, and fingers crossed it works! It retails for RM108.00.

And that’s my damage for this round! I kind of feel guilty for spending so much in one go, but I’m going to be busy at work for the next few weeks and I know I wont be out shopping and spending, so there you have it. I’ll be updating once I receive these babies!

You can shop for these items at luxola.com/my or head to the main page, luxola.com.

Tell me what you think of the items, and if you have tried any of the products before!

So long for now!

L’occitane Smoothing Gloss

Hello awesomesauces!!
So you know those tangly fly away hairs that we all have ? Lets just say I don’t have that problem anymore since I started using the L’occitane Smoothing Gloss!

Been using this for about a year now, and I have to say, its one of my must haves to tame wavy or unruly hair! My hair generally behaves most of the time, and its mostly straight, with just a bit of wavyness at the ends. I haven’t really coloured my hair or anything, but I did bleach my ends once (never again), and it became super duper dry, so I applied this gloss on it to make it all healthy and shiny again!

???????????????????????????????

Description: The gloss is enriched with 5 essential oils and strawberry AHA and this anti-frizz Repairing Smoothing Gloss effectively smoothes and tames hair while helping to repair and protect it from heat damage from the hair dryer or flat iron. Your hair is light, sleek and manageable with a long lasting finish. (That’s what the description says)

It contains five essential oils: Angelica that softens, Lavender that purifies, Geranium that regenerates, Ylang Ylang that strengthens and Patchouli that stimulates and Strawberry AHA.

MY DESCRIPTION: Okay, so yes, after application, hair does become sleek and smooth, and it definitely lasts till the end of the day! About heat protection, I would still advise you guys to use a proper heat protectant like Chi Iron Guard since I find that the heat protection for this product is very minimal. The smell of the product is very fresh, it smells a little like mens after shave to me honestly, so if you’re particular about the scent of a product, this might not be for you.

For me, I’m pretty okay with most smells, and the smell of the gloss does disappear after a while anyway, so no biggie. The texture is like a conditioner, thick, but clear, and it goes on very easily on the hair without stickyness. With 5 essential oils, i thought L’occitane’s Smoothing Gloss would feel like a serum, or an oil but its a actually thick viscous gel. Plus, its Sulphate free! That’s always a good thing no?

Instructions for use: Apply and spread on damp hair evenly before blow-drying. And to structure your hair or your curls, apply on dry hair on ends as a finish.
Personally, I don’t put this on my dry hair, since I find that it makes my hair feel crunchy, you know what I mean? Usually I use it after I wash my hair, while its still damp, take a penny sized dollop, rub it all over my fingertips to warm it up, and then apply all over my ponytail region. And then you style your hair as how you would do it normally. My hairstyle would last the whole day, curly or straight. And its not crunchy, weirdly enough. *mysteries of the world*
Other general thoughts: This product is priced at RM95 and for 125 ml. It lasts for a long time since you don’t really use much for each application. Cost wise, pretty effective!Out of 5 stars, this product gets a 4 rating. A definite repurchase!

For now, that’s about it I guess! Drop me a comment, like, tweet, share or anything really. I promise I don’t scratch! =D And dont forget to follow my facebook updates here!
